Introducing our Community Partners for 2016-17

Each year, the Junior League of Olympia puts out a Request for Proposals from Community Organizations whose missions are in line to the League's focus: The prevention of child abuse and neglect. After careful consideration, a number of organizations are selected to receive a financial grant, and often will receive volunteer hours from JLO members as well. Junior League of Olympia is proud to support the following Community Partners and their projects.

Grant of $6,480 to fund three sessions of group therapy services for sexually abused children, adolescents, survivors and non-offending caregivers. JLO members will also coordinate and procure therapy supplies.

Grant of $2,053.90 create and assemble 800 book bags for the Raising a Reader project. This will be a Done-In-A-Day volunteer opportunity for JLO members.

Grant of $1,000 to create Welcome Kits for children and youth who come to stay at the shelter. This will be a Done-In-A-Day volunteer opportunity for JLO members.

JLO will be conducting a sock and underwear drive in addition to volunteer support for JLO members.

Grant of $2,205 to provide grade level reading materials for its Clubhouse program. JLO members will have the opportunity to volunteer with vision screenings within the program.

Grant of $1,850 for a classroom remodel that JLO members will complete and a supply drive for school supplies.

Dry Tikes & Wet Wipes

JLO member will use the $1,000 grant to remodel the office of Dry Tikes and Wet Wipes in addition to coordinating and conducting a community supply drive for diapers, wipes and other baby items.
